Sustainability Info

Hemp: is a naturally sustainable crop that helps regenerate the soil it grows in and sequester CO2 making it a carbon-negative crop. It’s high resistance makes it less dependable on chemicals and it requieres very little water to survive (1/4 of the amount used to cultivate cotton). Additionally it requieres relatively a small amount of land to cultivate: according to the “Guide to Sustainable Textiles” hemp fiber can produce up to double the fibre yield per hectare than cotton.

Organic Cotton. Fiber is certified GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). Research shows California alone uses 6.9 million pounds of chemicals per year on cotton crops. These chemicals negatively affect the health of our soils, water and air. The solution to this is organic cotton which uses natural solutions o regenerate the soil, unfortunately currently only 1% of the cotton produced world-wide is organic.
